What makes me tick
I have 20 years’ corporate experience, mostly focused on service delivery and technology consulting to medium and large enterprises throughout the UK, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. In the last 10 years I’ve become increasingly interested in organisational culture and change.
Based on my studies (including a Graduate Diploma in Change Management and an Executive MBA) and professional experience (recently leading the transformation of the Asia-Pacific consulting practice for a US-based technology company), I have developed my own ideas on strategy, leadership, systems, structure, processes and culture. Executed well, I have seen first-hand how these can enable transformation and help businesses grow and succeed in highly competitive and fast-changing environments.

Before my corporate life, I spent 6 or 7 years working in a variety of very different industries in London. That experience helped me realize that the critical factor in almost all organisations is people. Peter Drucker summed it up nicely when he said:
‘Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast‘
Drucker was a legendary management consultant and writer and while he didn’t mean that strategy was unimportant – he was saying very clearly that if you had to choose, getting culture right and making sure that your people were engaged and empowered was a much bigger factor in organisational success.
I’m a lifelong student, always eager to explore new concepts and ideas and to challenge myself. In 2006, I got the chance to climb Mount Elbrus in Russia, and in 2012 I ran the Marathon Des Sables through the Sahara.
I relocated to Australia in 2008 and after 10 years in Sydney, am now based in Canberra, with my wife and two young daughters. I still travel extensively but adventures are now a bit closer to home!
